USING RIFF
The big "keys" on the main "fretboard" represent the primary notes used when playing rock or blues (Pentatonic Scale). Hit these notes (in any order) while playing along with a song and you just cant play a bad note.

The smaller "keys" are passing notes. Hit these on the way to one of the big "keys".

Bending any note by sliding all the way to the left or right side of the screen. The note will always bend to the proper pitch for the song youre playing with.

To use the Turbo function, merely drag your finger up and down the note triggers. RIFF wont let you play faster than a human can play a real guitar.

To play music from your music library, touch the "MUSIC" button, load your song and play it. The song will loop until you pause it.

RIFF will auto-adjust itself to play in the correct key when opening a properly named MP3s. To properly name songs, open iTunes and type the key of the song to the end of the song name (in iTunes) and add a "-" if its a minor key or a "+" if its a major key.

EXAMPLE of naming a song in A sharp minor: My Totally Awesome song A#-

Then, Re sync your iPhone/iPod Touch and open the song in RIFF. RIFF will now auto-tune itself to play in the right key for the song.

Pros and cons of RIFF app for iPhone and iPad

RIFF app good for

Yes, it is as cool as the demo video, and you can use it to pick up punk girls at the bus stop. Good deal.
This app is totally worth the price, and I wouldve paid even more! It is very fun and addictive, I could just sit there and jam for hours. The background songs available from the developers website are excellent to play along with and to just vamp off of for a long time... the possibilities are endless! Its very fun whether u are a musician or dont have any musical ability, its completely useable and fun either way!
What a great idea! Its almost like the new instrument for the Guitar Hero age. I hope Ill be able to hit more than one note at a time in the next version. But until then, every music lover should get this app!
Easy to use it made me an instant rock star. Beats the heck out of air guitar!!!
This app is amazing if you are already a guitarist, or just a wannabe like me. Seriously amazing!
Everything about this app is incredible! I wouldnt be surprised to see this on an Apple commercial someday. Easy to learn, difficult to master. Tons of fun...well worth the price. Would pay twice as much as it costs now.

Some bad moments

Downloaded it from itunes now trying to get a refund. Wont work on 1st gen ipod touch. No reason developer couldnt make it work. None of the upgrades of the ipod touch 2nd gen are needed for this to work.
Not worth the money. Playing rubber bands is more like playing a guitar. No chords, just individual notes.
